Born and raised in Washington, DC, 5000 Watts developed a deep love of music from a young age. At 8 years old she began playing the saxophone and spent following 10 years mastering jazz. As she matured she fell in love with hip hop, r&b, house and the many other sounds of the African Diaspora. She's traveled the world as a DJ and performed everywhere from Eastern Europe to West Africa to every corner of the US.
